The New York City Audubon's kindness for
our feathered friends in the city is
matched by their passion for nature
throughout New York.
NYCA
has an annual fund-raising event. A nature
cruise was a popular event. This cast of
birds pictured here are ones that dwell in
the urban jungle and have proudly been
featured on every invitation for the event
for nine years.
In
2003, NYCA came across a wonderful
documentary film Pale Male by
Frederic Lilien. For the fund-raising
event for that year, NYCA sponsored
screenings Pale Male at the
American Museum of Natural History. We
produced video tape jackets, invitations,
and a series of posters for the
screenings.
The event for 2004 was a dinner and silent
auction at the Boathouse in Central
Park.
NYCA conducts tours to view herons and other sea birds in their natural habitat of Brothers Islands in Manhattan.
A C C O M P L I S H M E N T : Attendance for NYCA events has steadily increased throughout the years and membership numbers have grown.
We have proudly donated our many hours for the last several years to help (in our own small way) preserve nature in our town.
